It’s the combination we’ve been waiting for. Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe, and Martin Smith united for a powerful ‘Our God Reigns’ performance, and I’d say it’s almost magical. These worship leaders' voices sound so splendid together. Watch the video to see the wonderful worship performance. 

Martin originally wrote ‘Our God Reigns (Over All The Earth)’ with his Delerious? band members, Stuart Garrard, Timothy Jupp, Stuart Smith, and Jonathan Thatcher, in 2005. Some of the verses from Cody, Kari, and Martin’s version are:

Their version, which is seven and a half minutes long, sounds incredible as a form of corporate worship. 

“We didn’t think about how we could sing this in church,” Martin said of writing the song in 2005. “We were just doing our thing. And then, as the years have gone by, you know, I start hearing this chorus resurface, you know, from places like Upperroom and Hillsong… Then it was like, maybe there’s a new version, you know, that we could carry into the church, that it brings that alive.”

So Martin partnered with Cody and Chris Tomlin to rewrite the song, and Kari and Cody sang it. Each of them is a famous worship leader, and it's marvelous to hear them sing together. Their voices complement each other so well. It’s clear that they created and sang this song with the intent to simply give glory to God, and it is beautiful to see and hear. This version is a wonderful song of faith, and I’m sure you’ll agree!

It’s not every day a video stops you in your tracks and fills your heart with peace, but this one absolutely will. This a cappella group delivers a chillingly beautiful rendition of ‘Be Thou My Vision’;  a spine-tingling moment and trust us when we say: it’s nothing short of heavenly.

I’ve sung that hymn more times than I can count—through seasons of joy, and in moments when my knees hit the floor in prayer. But when these four men lifted their voices in a quiet wooden church, something holy seemed to stir.

They didn’t have instruments, and they certainly didn’t need them. Just four voices are rich and full of soul. It’s the kind of harmony that blows the dust off old hymns and brings a lump to your throat before the first verse is even finished. These young men were dressed so neatly in black suits and white shirts as they stood in the middle of that sanctuary and let their voices do all the work. And believe me when I say, it felt like heaven opened just a little.

The group is called King’s Return, and they started in the most unexpected way by singing in stairwells and posting videos online. But their kind of music caught the media’s attention, and what we love the most his how they came together out of their love for the Gospel and old hymns. Slowly, their voices began reaching people all over the world. One video after another, millions started listening. And now? They’re singing in churches and concert halls. 

As a woman who’s seen many seasons of life, I’ve learned that real worship doesn’t have to be the newest worship song that’s gone viral. Sometimes it’s soft. Reverent. Sometimes it’s four men in a quiet church, reminding us of the goodness of God with nothing but their breath and hearts wide open.

One listener wrote, “This is the most beautiful version I’ve ever heard—and I’ve been listening for over 70 years.” I couldn’t agree more.

And it’s not just this song. King’s Return has performed everything from gospel to jazz to classic hymns without instruments. Their music crosses genres and generations, but what stays the same is the heart behind it. Their songs carry hope, healing, and a reminder of what really matters.

They chose the name King’s Return for a reason. “Kings” because they’re walking forward in strength and dignity. “Return” because they’re bringing something back—something we’ve been missing. Music with meaning. Songs with soul.

If you’ve had a long week, if your heart feels heavy, or even if you just want to sit with a cup of tea and listen to something beautiful, take a few minutes and listen to this. Let it wash over you like a gentle wave of peace. Let it remind you that God still meets us right where we are—even through a YouTube video and an old hymn.

The story behind the song ‘The Goodness of God’ and how it came to be is also beautiful. Jenn Johnson of Bethel Music shared about the adoption process of their son, Ryder, and how that influenced her to write this song.

“During the adoption process, I found myself driving on a long country road. I was just singing to the Lord when I recorded a song on my phone about the ‘faithfulness’ and ‘kindness of God.’ I wrote and sang most of ‘Goodness of God’ as an overflow of my heart at that moment,” she said.

This is one song that has encouraged and uplifted people when they hear it. It is a great reminder of how God runs after us to cover us and shower us with his goodness and faithfulness. He is our rock and strong foundation, and we can sing His praises for the rest of our days.

Musicians are a gifted group, blessed with the ability to produce beautiful, magnificent sounds. Of course, to make these sounds we all know and love, they have several tools at their disposal, a seemingly endless list of musical instruments. Some of them are more familiar and recognizable than others.

But regardless of whatever tool a musician uses to produce their sounds, one instrument does and will forever top them all: the human voice. It’s the original instrument, the only one God Himself created. The human voice is powerful, and a beautifully performed song can bring an entire audience to tears – something no other instrument can do.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a supremely gifted group of vocalists, Kings Return, put the beauty of the human voice on full display with their outstanding a cappella performance of “How Great Thou Art.” This is one rendition you do not want to miss, and, in fact, will likely find yourself listening to it multiple times. Covers are a beloved, time-honored tradition within the music world. They have been around, likely as long as music itself. Of course, a cover is when musicians take and perform another musician's often well-known and cherished piece of work. It's frequently seen as a way to show respect or appreciation to the musician or band who originally wrote and recorded that specific tune.

Typically, when it comes to covers, those playing their fellow artist's song will change it up in some form or fashion, if only slightly and barely noticeable. If there are no changes and if the cover is nothing more than a carbon copy of the original, what was the point of the cover? At least try to make the song yours in some way, leave your stamp on it somewhere.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Jon Foreman, the lead singer of Switchfoot, and Matthew Thiessen, the lead singer of Relient K, performed "God Only Knows." Their cover of The Beach Boys' iconic hit is fantastic and should be listened to repeatedly. Both gifted musicians supply the vocals, singing those lyrics we all know and love, as Jon strums on the ukulele and Matthew tickles the ivories on a keyboard.
