Why Jesus Is Loved All Over The World

Jesus Reveals Who He Is.

Songs Of Shiloh: Sweeter And Deeper

As a follower of Jesus, with the passage of time, I discovered that I was discovering more and more about Jesus. One of my favorite words that Jesus uses to describe relationship with Him is 'Abide'. This song is all about abiding in Jesus and Jesus abiding in us.

Man’s Beautiful A Cappella Version of 'Blessed Assurance'

One man, an obviously gifted singer, turned in a beautiful, awe-inspiring a cappella version of the beloved hymn “Blessed Assurance.”

Covers are an age-old tradition that musicians have likely been doing since humans started making sound. Playing other musicians' songs is something that every musical artist does during their career. If you see them in concert, even some of the biggest names in music will likely play a cover or two.

Hymns are popular targets for the cover treatment because they are so beloved and widely recognized. I mean, I believe every person who has ever picked up a microphone or any instrument has covered “Amazing Grace.” That’s a tune that has spawned hundreds and possibly thousands of covers.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one covered another but still very beloved hymn, “Blessed Assurance.” His version is probably unlike any other version of the hymn that you have heard previously. Typically, the hymn is upbeat and is performed at a relatively fast pace. Well, this gentleman, Sam Robson, changes things up considerably.

In addition to being performed as a cappella, Sam’s version is much more slowed-down. This unique arrangement really emphasizes and puts the focus on Sam’s stunning voice. He has truly been blessed with God-given talent and an angelic voice. You will no doubt want to return to Sam’s version repeatedly as you take in his wonderful vocal performance.

But as great as Sam’s performance and version of this song are, the memorable, iconic and powerful lyrics make this hymn a classic and so beloved. The hymn’s opening verse reminds us of the power, love and victory we have because of our Savior Jesus Christ.

“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine

Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine

Heir of salvation, purchase of God

Born of his Spirit, washed in His Blood”

Praise His name!

1 John 5:13 “I have put these things in writing for you who have faith in the name of the Son of God, so that you may be certain that you have eternal life.”

Couple’s Powerful 'At Calvary' Hymn Duet

Two incredibly talented people – a man and a woman – turned in a powerful cover duet performance of a classic and beloved hymn, "At Calvary."

This world is a lost and broken place full of struggling and hurting individuals. They are desperately searching for something to give them even the slightest bit of hope, the tiniest glimmer. Everywhere they go and look, they come up empty or find something that only provides an immediate and temporary sense of joy and hope.

However, there is one who provides a kind of hope and peace that many in the world do not know. Jesus Christ came to Earth to save a lost world and provide sinners hope. Without Him and His agonizing, painful and utterly undeserved death on the cross, none of us would have a chance. If not for Him, all would be destined to be lost and separated from God for all of eternity.

Instead, He willingly went to the cross and made the ultimate sacrifice. He bled and died at Calvary, suffering for you and me. He did all that so we might be forgiven and spend eternity with Him.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a talented couple performs "At Calvary." This beloved tune is about what Christ did for you and me. Their lovely rendition of this classic tune is one that you'll likely turn to repeatedly.

The chorus is so iconic, memorable and powerful.

"Mercy there was great, and grace was free

Pardon there was multiplied to me

There, my burdened soul found liberty – at Calvary."

Some may believe, feel or think that Christ did not go to the cross for them, but the most famous verse in the Bible makes it abundantly clear that is not the case. He did everything and went through everything because He loved the world so much. He suffered and died at Calvary for everyone.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Choir's Chilling 'It Is Well With My Soul' Rendition

Hope Harmony Choir delivers a chilling rendition of the classic hymn, ‘It Is Well With My Soul.’

The group’s latest release, ‘It Is Well With My Soul,’ was written by Horatio G. Spafford in 1873; the musical composition was written in 1876 by Philip P. Bliss.

Horatio Spafford was a Chicago lawyer and real estate investor who dealt with devastating loss. The Great Chicago Fire in 1871 destroyed much of Mr. Spafford’s property and left him broke. Two years later, his four daughters died at sea when Mrs. Spafford and the girls were bound for Europe, and their ship collided with another one and sank. Horatio had stayed behind for business and was scheduled to connect with his family later.

While traveling to join his grieving wife, the devout Christian man was inspired to write ‘It Is Well With My Soul’ as his ship passed over the location where his girls—ages 12, 7, 4, and 18 months—perished. Mr. Spafford was a 19th-century Job, having experienced unfathomable loss and heartbreak. Yet, he remained faithful, trusting God in every circumstance.

Horatio Spafford’s lyrics speak of trials and tribulations and of finding comfort and peace in Christ. Those words are sung beautifully by this talented group of twelve.

Hope Harmony Choir is a group of singers and musicians representing three families. The group “compose[s] and perform[s] songs to please both God and men.” According to their website, they function as a choir with the unique approach of individually recording each member’s part.

Listen to how beautifully their voices blend. The young lady in the gray dress sings a stirring solo at 2:35, and the gentleman with glasses sings the final verse at 3:25.

Here are those four lines:

‘And Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight

The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;

The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend

Even so, it is well with my soul’

What a wonderful group of young people! The young man in green shorts becomes amused toward the end of the video; they probably have a blast singing together! Fortunately, the tall guys manage to avoid bumping their heads on the low beam just behind them. And, four of the guys appear after the final note to do a little promo.; they’re adorable!

What a blessing it is that there are young, talented people singing old, inspiring hymns with messages that are ageless!

“Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.” Job 13:15

Duo’s Beautiful Acoustic Version of 'Jesus Paid It All'

An incredibly gifted musical duo—a young woman and a man—performed a beautiful acoustic version of the beloved hymn "Jesus Paid It All."

Hymns are some of the most beautiful pieces of music you'll ever hear. Their masterfully written lyrics tell of the life-changing love, forgiveness and faithfulness of Jesus Christ. These tracks can bring men to their knees, with tears streaming down their faces.

Unfortunately, hymns are also underutilized parts of music. Churches have mostly abandoned hymns. Instead, many places of worship have chosen to use popular contemporary Christian songs. The worship portion of many churches' Sunday morning services lacks hymns, which is incredibly sad. Can you name a tune that better captures what it's like to go from being a sinner, hopelessly lost, to a saved child of the King than "Amazing Grace," "Great is Thy Faithfulness" or "What a Friend We Have in Jesus?"

In a clip posted on YouTube, two young people beautifully perform an acoustic version of "Jesus Paid It All," a tune about Christ's ultimate sacrifice and death on the cross. This rendition is one that you'll turn to again and again.

Both young performers have clearly been incredibly blessed with God-given musical talent, which they use to spread Christ's message of love and forgiveness of sins. This message is one that many in the world so desperately need to hear.

Many are lost and struggling, searching for relief or something that will provide them with even momentary happiness. They look everywhere, going from here to there, but come up empty every time. That kind of happiness, fulfillment, contentment and forgiveness is only found in one place: Jesus Christ.

As the lyrics state, Christ went to the cross, where he paid it all. Where sin has left a crimson stain, Christ's love and forgiveness can make it as white as snow.

Galatians 2:20 "I have been put to death on the cross with Christ; still I am living; no longer I, but Christ is living in me; and that life which I now am living in the flesh I am living by faith, the faith of the Son of God, who in love for me, gave himself up for me."

Fantastic A Cappella Version of 'And Can It Be That I Should Gain'

One man–countless harmonies. David Wesley creates a fantastic a cappella version of the beloved hymn ‘And Can It Be That I Should Gain.’ David Wesley shared with his fans he creates “Music to excite, inspire, and engage the world in worship.”

What makes this rendition of ‘And Can It Be That I Should Gain’ so special is that Wesley sings all the parts himself. He then spends time editing the videos and layering all the different octaves and harmonies together to create a rich, beautiful harmony of the song and it sounds like a full choir at church.

He posted a caption with the song, “The title of this hymn is a mouthful, just as many of its phrases are tricky to sing!  The lyrics take us through a poetic rendering of Charles Wesley's conversion experience.  Unfortunately, I couldn't incorporate all the verses to fill out the story!”

One fan shared, “This is one of those songs that really makes me stop and consider the lyrics every time its sung.  "How can it be that Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?"  How is that even possible? I am guilty of singing hymns many times and not thinking about what is being said, but this one is never just rote for me; every single time I hear that particular phrase, I can't help but stop and think and dwell on that amazing aspect of what has been done for me.” Another viewer commented, “Oh, I love this song. You just never hear the old hymns anymore! Such a talent. Thanks for sharing it with us!

David’s love for music began at a young age when a neighbor took him to church, and he became connected with the choir. Over time, he developed a passion for using his vocal talents to create worship music. His journey started on YouTube, where he gained attention for his “virtual choirs” and solo a cappella performances. David’s goal is to breathe new life into worship music in order to connect people to God through music. And it’s inspiring that his faith is at the center of everything he does.

We hope you enjoyed David Wesley's beautiful rendition of ‘And Can It Be That I Should Gain.’ Whether it's your first time hearing this song or it’s a cherished favorite, we hope it brought you peace and inspiration today.

Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Young Choir’s Moving Rendition of 'It Is Well With My Soul'

A choir of young people turned in a moving rendition of the beloved and classic hymn "It is Well with My Soul."

Life is rarely, if ever, fair. Many situations and circumstances we encounter and endure in this life often result from nothing we have done. Yes, sometimes, our choices and decisions impact and result in horrible consequences and endings.

However, those instances that we cannot explain the reason for their occurrence are always the hardest to take and endure. In these times, we'll often find ourselves asking God very pointed and direct questions, often in a very stern manner. Why did a loved one get cancer? Why can't we have children? Why was I stricken with this condition or disease?

However, God is still God, even in those dark valleys and storms. He is still working and in control. Those are hard things to think about and remember, especially during tragic or trying circumstances. But that's precisely what one beloved hymn reminds us to do.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a talented group of young people beautifully performs "It is Well with My Soul." This tune will be familiar to anyone who has attended a place of worship with any regularity. However, that does not diminish the lyrics’ relevance even slightly.

Everyone, including Christians, will experience painful, heartbreaking situations. Grief and sorrow will visit all at one time or another. So, the words in "It is Well with My Soul" remain as meaningful and powerful as ever.

"When peace like a river, attendeth my way

When sorrows like sea billows roll

Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say

It is well, it is well, with my soul"

That is and will always be hard to do when tragedy strikes. But when those times do arrive, God remains by our side and is working in that situation, offering comfort and healing. Then we will be able to say that it is truly well with my soul.

Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which is deeper than all knowledge, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
