SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 24, 2025--

At the upcoming EDUCAUSE 2025 Annual Conference, YuJa, Inc. and the University of Notre Dame will present practical approaches to help institutions scale their accessibility efforts using automation and AI.

The presentation, "Scaling Accessibility: How Automation and AI are Making Universal Access Achievable," is set for Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 2:15 to 3 p.m. CDT in Meeting Room 204, Level 2 of the Nashville Music City Center. Steve Varela, director of Teaching and Learning Technologies at the University of Notre Dame, and Isaac Kingsmith, director of Business Development at YuJa, Inc., will share frameworks that help institutions create accessible learning environments more efficiently.

While the number of students with disabilities continues to grow, many don't disclose their needs to institutions. At the same time, accessibility challenges across educational websites remain widespread, highlighting the need for scalable solutions. These gaps create risks for student success and institutional compliance.

“Many institutions want to improve accessibility, but struggle with the volume of content that needs attention, with thousands of documents, videos, and course materials,” Kingsmith said. “We’ll show how AI and automation can help accessibility teams work smarter and give them data to prioritize efforts and tools to address issues efficiently.”

“Creating accessible content shouldn’t require accessibility teams to touch every file manually,” Varela added. “Tools exist now to help institutions proactively identify and fix barriers. We’re excited to share what we’ve learned about making this work in practice.”

The session will explore approaches to accessibility planning, strategies for managing accessibility workflows across large institutions, and ways to use AI for tasks like document remediation and content analysis. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies they can apply at their own institutions.

EDUCAUSE 2025, Oct. 27-29 in Nashville, is the largest annual gathering of higher education professionals and technology providers. YuJa also will exhibit at Booth #1733 throughout the conference. Stop by or book a stand demo at https://www.yuja.com/educause-2025/.
