This stirring performance of "Amazing Grace" will give you chills. It's an outstanding rendition of the most beloved hymn of all time; it deserves to be listened to repeatedly. Watch the short but moving clip to hear this powerful cover performance of "Amazing Grace."
Christian contemporary music is an increasingly popular genre, especially in the church, and it's abundantly clear why that is the case. Dozens and dozens of truly talented Christian musicians have produced some incredibly powerful work about Jesus Christ, His love, faithfulness and grace.
However, as great as those contemporary Christian tunes are, nothing will ever compare to the old church hymns. Those beloved songs contain so much power, emotion and truth. Sadly, many churches have started abandoning and moving away from the hymns, and I can't help but feel that the praise and worship portion of Sunday morning services suffers because of it. It's impossible to top or even match hymns like "How Great Thou Art," "Great is Thy Faithfulness," "Victory in Jesus" and many, many others.
Of course, it would be wrong to talk about hymns without mentioning the most beloved hymn of all time: "Amazing Grace." With its iconic, memorable lyrics, this beautiful song tells of a state, a place that we've all been in at one time or another before coming to Christ. It also describes the immediate feeling - that a weight had been lifted off your shoulders - after being forgiven and accepting Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Con Hunley performs the beloved tune about experiencing the Lord's grace and forgiveness for the first time. It's a much different sound and feel than you're likely used to, but that does not change the lyrics' meaning, emotion and truth.
Hebrews 4:16 "Then let us come near to the seat of grace without fear, so that mercy may be given to us, and we may get grace for our help in time of need."
