‘How Great Thou Art’ Performed Beautifully by The Petersens

Check out this beautiful performance from The Petersens of the song ‘How Great Thou Art.’ Their bluegrass rendition is absolutely wonderful, and the harmonies sound lovely. This talented family band is sure to bring a smile to your face and encourage your soul!

‘Oh Lord, my God, when I, in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed’

The Petersens are a family band that performs full-time in Branson, Missouri. They celebrate American roots music with a focus on family values. The band consists of four siblings —Katie, Ellen, Matt, and Julianne —and their mom, Karen, as well as good friend Emmett Franz.

When filming this music video, the family chose the chapel at College of the Ozarks as the setting. This is where Katie, Ellen, and Matt went to college.

“One of my favorite hymns sung by my favorite vocalist. Well done Petersens,” comments one person on YouTube after watching the music video.

“It's not just the excellent performance, it's the anointing by the Holy Spirit. And I felt it,” writes another person online.

As for the background of ‘How Great Thou Art,’ the hymn started in Sweden in 1886, and it is fascinating to hear how the song made its way to the United States. Author and editor Carl Boberg originally wrote ‘How Great Thou Art’ as a poem. Later, those words were set to a Swedish folk tune. Then, in 1907, Manfred von Glehn translated it into German, and five years later, a Russian pastor named Ivan Prokhanoff created a Russian adaptation.

Then, in the early 1920s, Rev. and Mrs. Stuart Hine left their home in England and went to Poland as missionaries. That’s when they heard the Russian adaptation of ‘How Great Thou Art.’ Reverend Hine decided to write the English lyrics and make his own arrangement of the Swedish melody. After going through many iterations, we have the beloved ‘How Great Thou Art’ hymn that we know today.

We hope you enjoyed listening to this version of ‘How Great Thou Art’ from The Petersens today!

Soul-Stirring ‘I’d Rather Have Jesus’ Performance

This beautiful performance of “I’d Rather Have Jesus” is soul-stirring and powerful. It is one rendition of the beloved tune you’ll want to return to and listen to repeatedly. Watch this short but moving clip to hear this lovely performance of “I’d Rather Have Jesus,” a tune that is near and dear to the hearts of many.

Most people seek something real, authentic and long-lasting, that has staying power and will stand the test of time. Unfortunately, they aren’t likely to find it in this place. Everything in this world is temporary. Nothing on Earth will last forever; everything has an expiration date.

All the clothes, money and other signs of wealth and riches will fade away. Even our time in this place is limited and will eventually end. But there is one who will and does last forever: Jesus Christ. His love, mercy and grace have no endpoint; they have withstood the test of time. So, anyone who puts their faith, trust and hope in anything or anyone other than in Jesus Christ is nothing more than a fool.

In a clip posted on YouTube, an unbelievably talented group of musicians performs “I’d Rather Have Jesus.” The tune speaks to the temporary nature of what many people strive for and aspire to—money and fame—and how Christ and His love and forgiveness will never fade away. The song’s lyrics are beautifully written and powerful and their meaning is timeless.

“I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold
I’d rather be His than have riches untold
I’d rather have Jesus than houses or land
I’d rather be led by His nail-pierced hand”

This is such a powerful tune, wonderfully performed, about where our hope, faith and trust should be placed: Jesus Christ. He will never let us down, is forever faithful and is the same today, yesterday and forevermore.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Family Band’s Powerful A Cappella Renditions of ‘I Sing’ and ‘How Great Thou Art’

A family band has turned in powerful a cappella renditions of “I Sing” and “How Great Thou Art.” They all demonstrate they have been incredibly blessed with an immense amount of musical talent and ability. Watch the short but delightful clip of this family band’s lovely and moving performances of “I Sing” and “How Great Thou Art,” songs that are known and beloved by many.

Talents and abilities come in many different shapes, forms and areas. For instance, some people (not me) are gifted with their hands and can build and put together anything without ever looking at a set of directions. They instinctively know how things work and how they should fit together. That ability and know-how have always fascinated me because they are skills and talents I do not possess.

Others have been blessed with the ability to make beautiful music by either playing an instrument or vocalizing lyrics. While many unique and interesting musical instruments exist, we can all agree that one tops all the rest: the human voice. It’s the most versatile, and the only one that can bring listeners to tears.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a family uses their beautiful voices to praise and worship the Lord. The Hudson Harmony Band stays true to its name as they deliver stunning, jaw-dropping and chilling harmonies while performing “I Sing” and “How Great Thou Art.” There isn’t a flat or dropped note throughout the entire clip. It is literal music to the ears, a most enjoyable musical performance.

Their seamless transition from “I Sing” to “How Great Thou Art” is nearly perfect. The arrangement and the way they do it make the two songs sound like one continuous tune (which is the entire point, I guess).

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Today is the day

It's Time, Lord

An inspired plea for peace in a world that seems to be running amok with no compassion or respect for human life. So much innocent blood being sacrificed while nothing changes. Only a return to love will accomplish what everyone wants and needs. It's time, Lord! Powerful ‘Same God’ Cover Will Stir Your Soul

Giovanna Diaz and Mass Anthem give a stunning performance in this simple and peaceful worship cover. Take a moment to breathe, relax, and worship our great God. Watch this powerful ‘Same God’ cover that will stir your soul.

Giovanna is set against a simple white background. The video is as if you are watching her pray out in song to the Lord. You will love the sweet soprano tone that she has in her voice, the purity of hitting notes with such lightness, and confidence.

It is really easy to listen to her precious voice. The quality in her sound reminds us of the lightness that Jesus gives us when we go to Him with our burdens. He tells us that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Maybe you are seeing this video, and you are in the midst of a storm? The burdens of this life seem too great to bear. No matter what is going on in your heart, Jesus is with you, and He wants to lift the burden and ease your pain in this world.

Our struggle with sin and hurt will never fully be gone on this side of heaven, but He gives us His victory through His death and resurrection. We can live with hope!

As you read the lyrics while Giovanna sings, they will remind you of who God has always been and how He is glorified in amazing ways throughout the generations. He hears our prayers, He provides, He is the same God today that He has always been. He is unchanging. While you listen to this beautiful cover, be reminded and prayerful about the nature of the Lord who is always the great I Am.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Moving Rendition of Brandon Lake’s Worship Anthem ‘Gratitude’

Enjoy this peaceful and wonderful cover. Sarah will invite you into a genuine moment of praise. Watch this moving rendition of Brandon Lake’s worship anthem ‘Gratitude.’

This popular worship song is always wonderful for reminding us to have hearts of thanksgiving to God. At the beginning of this video, we see a young woman at a piano in her home. Sarah is playing the piano and singing at the microphone. You will quickly recognize that she is a skilled pianist.

She has such ease and strength as she plays the keys. Sarah smiles and clearly has such joy as she worships God with music.

You will love that this song is so authentic and prayerful. It is beautiful to hear a woman’s rendition with the tenderness that she brings. Perhaps you are feeling like you do not have the words to say in your current situation? Sing this song as a prayer to God. Sing-along with Sarah in the relaxed setting of her home.

The chorus the sings out:

So I throw up my hands
And praise You again and again
'Cause all that I have is a hallelujah
Hallelujah

We can often be at a loss for words in our lives. Hardship is inevitable in this sin-filled world. However, when we have God’s Spirit in us through Jesus’ sacrifice, we can somehow find gratitude in the midst of our challenges and sorrows.

The Lord is worthy of all praise. We can bring Him gratitude even though we are weary and worn.

On the bridge, Sarah utilizes a wide range of vocal abilities. She is tender and then powerful. She does a great job of tone painting the song. It is as if we are in the living room with her, joining in the song to celebrate Jesus together.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Powerful Rendition of ‘Goodness of God’ Will Move Your Heart

This powerful rendition of "Goodness of God" will move your heart. This version of the beloved contemporary Christian tune deserves to be listened to repeatedly. Watch the short but moving clip to hear this stunning, jaw-dropping vocal performance.

Contemporary Christian music is a genre that continues to grow in popularity, with its many songs about Christ's love, mercy and grace. More and more churches have chosen those popular, modern songs to fill their Sunday morning services' praise and worship portion over the more traditional, old church hymns. Additionally, some Christian music artists have experienced success on pop radio, such as Lauren Daigle, MercyMe and Brandon Lake.

Like every other genre of music, there are classics when it comes to contemporary Christian music. These are typically the songs that continued to get covered by anybody and everybody with a microphone. "You Say," by Lauren Daigle and Hillsong UNITED's "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) are two that immediately come to mind.

However, Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson's "Goodness of God" also frequently receives the cover treatment. In a clip posted on YouTube, Stephen McWhirter adds his name to the ever-growing list of musicians who have covered "Goodness of God," and his version is fantastic.

It's understandable why "Goodness of God" gets performed and covered at such an impressively high rate. It's a beautifully written tune about the loving, forgiving and faithful God we serve. It also doesn't hurt that the song has one of the catchiest choruses you've heard within the last decade or song.

"'Cause all my life You have been faithful
And all my life, You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God"

"Goodness of God" is a memorable and iconic tune, and Stephen's acoustic cover of this song is simply delightful. His unique, unmistakable voice adds so much character and meaning to every song he performs.

Chris Tomlin ‘Still The King’ Lyric Video

Prepare for another wonderful and worshipful song crafted by a well-respected Christian artist. Be reminded that God is still who He has always been. Watch Chris Tomlin's “Still the King” lyric video.

As the song begins, you read the lyrics along with the melody, pondering the cross of Jesus that leads to praising Him. As you listen and follow along, you will reflect on your own journey and God’s faithfulness in your everyday life.

Maybe you are feeling hopeless today and struggling to believe who the Lord is in your life. However, this is a great reminder that Jesus is still the same as He has always been. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

The bridge sings out about the gratitude that we have when we think about the tomb. Sometimes our eyes wander from where they should be focused. We veer from the One who loves us most.

This song invites us to sing along to the chorus:

How could my heart not sing of all You've done for me?
For the blood is still the blood
And the King is still the King

May we all be still and reflect on the saving work of Jesus. As we hear a familiar voice, may we join in with his song to edify the King over all. Where we feel insecure, we can be reminded to have wholeness in Jesus.

When we want to hold back our worship to God out of fear, apathy, or doubt, may this song catapult us into giving Christ our total praise in surrender. He is more glorious than we can ever imagine. He tells us in His Word that He is unchanging. Let’s sing about this alongside Chris Tomlin today.

“For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.” Malachi 3:6
