We The Kingdom ‘Don’t Let The Darkness’ Performance Video

Check out this performance video from the band We The Kingdom of their song ‘Don't Let The Darkness.’ The song centers on themes of surrender and resilience, inviting listeners to lay down their anxieties and trust that light breaks through the darkness. We hope it encourages you today!

‘When the world is cold as stone
Feels like you've got no place to go
Lift your head and call My name
I come running like a freight train’

What a talented band! We The Kingdom consists of multiple generations of relatives, and the band's name comes from the idea that "the kingdom of God is here among us." The band has shared about their song ‘Don't Let The Darkness’ and what it meant to record it together.

“‘Don’t Let the Darkness’ was a lot of fun to record! We focused on the simplicity of being a band, the four of us, making music with our instruments. It was written during a time when we as a band needed to be reminded that hope hasn’t gone anywhere,” We The Kingdom shared. “If you’re walking through a difficult season, this song is for you - hang in there, because the light always breaks through the darkness!”

What a great song with a wonderful message. One that reminds us that hope and God's light persist even when things feel heavy. ‘Don’t Let the Darkness’ is part of We The Kingdom’s album titled Dear Jesus. The songs on this album are deeply personal, rooted in faith, and build on the honest storytelling and musicianship that have defined We The Kingdom since their 2018 debut.

“After spending two years recording, it’s beautiful when you can tell the story of reality,” the band shares. “This record is a culmination of the beauty that came from freedom: no themes or motives, but truly authentic.”

We hope you enjoyed listening to ‘Don’t Let the Darkness’ by We The Kingdom today!

Ginny Owens Shares the Heart Behind New EP, 'Different Kind of Water'

From worship leading in New York City to writing songs that spark spiritual conversations, Ginny Owens joins us in Nashville to share the heart behind her new EP, Different Kind of Water, a collection centered on faith, hope, and deeper connection with God. Written over the course of five years, this deeply personal collection explores longing, forgiveness, faith, and the spiritual conversations we all wrestle with. Ginny shares how living in New York City, serving as Director of Worship Arts at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, and walking closely with people who aren’t yet believers shaped every lyric on this project. We dive into: • The meaning behind Different Kind of Water • Why these songs took years to finish • Writing outside the Nashville “Christian bubble” • Balancing church ministry and artistry • Her new companion journal with stories, lyrics, and reflection prompts • And her heart to equip worship leaders through The Asaph Project Plus, Ginny opens up about why worship is never a performance and how songs should carry people through the hardest days of their week.
