'You Can’t Take My Song’ — Jamie MacDonald’s Anthem of Faith and Strength

Some songs don’t just play in the background — they move through you. They get in your bones, make your shoulders sway, and your spirit lift like it remembers something holy it almost forgot. Jamie MacDonald’s “You Can’t Take My Song” is one of those songs of anthem, of faith, and strength!

With its smooth ’70s groove and a hint of R&B soul, this tune feels like sunshine sneaking through blinds on a Saturday morning. From the very first beat, you can’t help but tap your foot and smile. It’s joy, freedom, and faith all wrapped up in a sound that makes you want to dance while folding laundry or driving down the road with the windows rolled down.

“They’ve been trying to silence me, trying to dim the light in me,” Jamie sings, and haven’t we all been there? Those seasons when life, loss, or the loud voices of doubt try to drown out the melody God planted deep inside us. But then comes the part that makes you want to shout along: “You can’t take my song.”

This is more than catchy because it’s real life. Jamie’s lyrics remind us that no matter what we’re facing — heartache, weariness, the struggle to just keep showing up — God is still our God. He’s the One who wrote our song long before anyone tried to steal it. And nothing, no darkness or doubt, can undo what He’s placed in us.

The music video captures that truth beautifully. Jamie lounges on a 1970s-era couch in what appears to be a storage room filled with the ordinary clutter of life: old lamps, stacked chairs, boxes, and bits of nostalgia. It feels like flipping through old home movies, the kind with soft lighting and unpolished edges. And that’s what makes it perfect. It’s a reminder that even in the everyday mess, God’s song remains. You don’t have to have it all together to sing again.

Jamie smiles between verses, her voice warm and strong, and you can almost feel God smiling too. Because He’s the One who gives us joy that feels like home, hope that carries us through, and a song that can’t be taken away.

So go ahead and share this with someone who’s been quiet for too long, someone who’s forgotten the melody that once made them brave. Because we all need to be reminded now and then: no matter what life tries to steal, the song God gave you still plays on.

Psalm 40:3 “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.”

Chilling A Cappella Version of 'Because He Lives'

Listen to this chilling a cappella cover of the song ‘Because He Lives’ from The Martins. Bill and Gloria Gaither's beautiful song has been an encouragement for people for many decades, and this rendition is just wonderful! The way The Martins blend their voices together with their harmonies is absolutely heavenly.

‘God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!’

When it comes to the hymn 'Because He Lives,’ the words and music were penned by Bill and Gloria Gaither. To date, the married couple have written more than 700 songs, produced 60 recordings, and several musicals. And both of them are authors or co-authors of several books.

But one of the most popular songs they have ever written is this one, ‘Because He Lives.’ The song begins with a reminder that Christ came down to earth, and the purpose of His coming was that we might face tomorrow with all its uncertainty. We are also reminded through the lyrics in the hymn that God holds our future in his hands, and this life is worth living because we put our trust and hope in Him.

As for The Martins, this sibling group rose to national and international success during the 1990s, showcasing their stunning and distinctive harmonies before a vast array of audiences. Over the years, the group garnered eight Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association, as well as a prestigious Grammy nomination.

The siblings decided to take a break in 2003 and pursue individual music careers, but they reunited in 2010 and were stronger than ever. In 2011, they released their first new recording together in 10 years. In 2013, the group returned to the studio to record The Martins A Cappella. This recording earned The Martins a Grammy nomination for Best Roots Gospel Album. Most recently, The Martins produced their latest recording, Still Standing.

We hope you enjoyed listening to their a cappella rendition of ‘Because He Lives’ today!

You’ll Be Uplifted by This Beautiful ‘Praise You Anywhere' Cover

First Baptist Clarksville has released another incredible praise performance. You’ll be uplifted by this beautiful “Praise You Anywhere” cover. Play the video to hear the awesome act of worship.

The performance features several female lead vocalists and a full choir of stunning voices. There are guitar and bass notes, as well as piano, but the voices shine most of all. The worship team sings the song’s lyrics with their whole hearts.

Sometimes you've gotta dance through the darkness
Sing through the fire
Praise when it don't make sense
Sometimes you've gotta stare down the giant

The performance shines with sincerity as each person offers their talents in praise. It’s obvious that they’ve had a lot of practice and know how to tune their voices together to perfection.
It’s so wonderful to see a powerful performance like this.

It’s not one of those mainstream Hillsong videos that are known for capturing the essence of the Holy Spirit, but it’s just as raw, spirit-filled, powerful, and moving. The artists sound wonderful as they worship the Lord together and invite the audience to sing along.

“Praise You Anywhere” is one of those upbeat songs that makes you want to get up and shout with your hands lifted in praise to heaven. The song encourages reflection on God’s goodness and why he is worthy of all of our praise, always. It’s a declaration of faith and trust in the one who never fails.

He is our creator and like it’s mentioned in Psalms 35:18, shouting his name among many people gives Him glory. If you’re listening today, praise God along with the First Clarksville singers and thank Him for who he is! And remember—you can praise him anywhere.

“I will give you thanks in the great congregation: I will praise you among much people.” Psalms 35:18

Soothing Piano Rendition of ‘Blessed Assurance’ Is Heavenly

You may have never heard this particular hymn performed without any lyrics, and it’s about time. Because this soothing piano rendition of “Blessed Assurance” is heavenly in every sense of the word. Play the video to hear the wonderful and heartfelt piece.

It’s so refreshing to hear the hymn in a new way like this. It’s not one of the mainstream hymns, so when it’s performed, it is usually sung with instrumental accompaniment. But just listening to it played on a solo instrument is lovely.

“Blessed Assurance” is a hymn written in 1873 about dedication to Christ and happiness with Him. Some of the beginning lyrics are:

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.

The hymn was written by Fanny J. Crosby, who was inspired by a tune a composer played for her. Fanny was a blind and prolific songwriter. She is said to have penned over 8,000 hymns. “Blessed Assurance” sounds completely heavenly and even mentions heaven in the song as a place of “perfect delight.”

Pianist Jason Coleman does a lovely job of performing the hymn on his instrument. It’s easy to tell that he feels the song from his fingertips all the way right to his heart. The song sounds light and hopeful, hinting at the promise of heaven and God’s love, even without the lyrics being present. As you listen today, I hope you are soothed by this calm reminder of the blessed assurance we can have in Christ and in eternal salvation.

“Let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience: and having our body washed with pure water,” Hebrews 10:22

Check out this amazing saxophone cover of ‘Holy Forever’ by Chris Tomlin. The musician in the video is named Avelina Kushnir, and her incredible performance stopped people in the streets. Listening to her play this lovely worship song will give you chills!

‘A thousand generations falling down in worship
To sing the song of ages to the Lamb
And all who've gone before us and all who will believe
Will sing the song of ages to the Lamb’

What a wonderful performance of this beautiful song! And the musician in the video, Avelina, is so talented! Not only can Avelina play the saxophone, but she can also play the violin, guitar, and sing. Avelina is also a cousin of Karolina Protsenko, who is well-known on YouTube for her violin performances.

“You are a unique and original artist, Avelina! The saxophone is a great instrument in your hands. Beautiful performance, thank you!” comments one person online after watching the video.

“Truly incredible and inspiring! One of my favorite songs giving glory to God! Well done!” writes another person online.

The song ‘Holy Forever’ is one that moves you to worship the Lord and remember His faithfulness throughout the generations. And it invites us to engage in something that is far bigger than ourselves – eternal worship to our Heavenly Father.

"I just tried to capture a piece of Heaven in this song that never ends, this eternal song,” shares Chris Tomlin. “What's amazing is that there is an eternal song and we know the lyrics. It’s 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.' That's what the Bible says throughout, and in Revelation, it says, 'Day and night, they never stopped saying it.’”

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this special rendition of ‘Holy Forever’ from Avelina Kushnir today! May this powerful song leave you encouraged and uplifted.

Phil Wickham Declares Victory in ‘Fear Has No Power’ Lyric Video

Listen to Phil Wickham sing his wonderful new song called ‘Fear Has No Power’ in this lyric video! The track builds on themes of resilience and faith, reminding us that no matter what fear we face, it has no power in Jesus’ name. May you be encouraged by this song today!

“You were with us in the fire and we were not burned in the flames
We were not burned in the flames, You were in that den of lions
And we were unharmed and unscathed, so why would we ever be afraid
Cause we know who You are, we know who You are”

Phil Wickham wasn’t planning on releasing this single at this time, but the singer shared that he couldn’t help but share it with the world. “I wasn’t planning on releasing another song this year, but this one just came pouring out and I had to share it,” he said.

Phil Wickham also shared about the heart behind ‘Fear Has No Power’ and how the song came to be. “Life has felt heavy. From the chaos, wars, and violence we see in the world to the personal pain of losing a childhood friend just days ago, it’s been a lot. And I know I’m not alone in feeling that way,” he shared. “In the middle of it all, there’s been this song I haven’t been able to stop singing. I wasn’t planning on releasing it, but it’s been carrying me. It’s reminded my heart of what’s true. I stand on a rock that cannot be shaken. The victory has already been won.

The same God who stood with Daniel in the lions’ den, who walked with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego through the fire, stands with us now. This song is for anyone who needs to be reminded that in Jesus, we are more than conquerors. Do not be afraid. Fear has no power.”

What a fantastic reminder to praise through our fears. We hope you enjoyed listening to ‘Fear Has No Power’ by Phil Wickham today.

Soul-Stirring ‘Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)’ Cover Will Uplift You

This soul-stirring cover of “Amazing Grace (Chains are Gone)” will uplift you. This praise and worship team’s rendition of the beloved hymns is one that you’ll find yourself returning to repeatedly. Watch the short but powerful clip to listen to this chillingly beautiful performance of “Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone).”

We are all individuals, created with our own set of likes, dislikes, tastes and preferences. No two people are exactly 100 percent alike because God doesn’t make duplicates and carbon copies. He’s in the business of creating individuals. How boring would it be if we were all alike in every conceivable way? That would be awful.

Now, these differences in tastes and preferences manifest themselves in many ways – such as favorite foods, television shows, movies and other interests. However, one of the most obvious is in the type and kind of music people enjoy and gravitate toward. For instance, some people may enjoy the musical stylings of Elvis Presley or The Beatles, while others might want nothing to do with them, believing them to be incredibly overhyped and overrated.

Regardless of your taste in music, there are some songs that everyone loves and appreciates, classics that are known worldwide. One of those tunes is, of course, “Amazing Grace.” It’s a powerfully moving and iconic song, one that nearly everyone can relate to. We have all been lost, living in our sin and shame at one time. But it was only because of God’s unending, unbelievable love and inexplicable, amazing grace that we have been forgiven.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a church’s praise and worship team wonderfully performs this tune about the Lord’s amazing grace. It’s one that we all know and love and can sing entirely from memory. But it’s also one that we will never tire of hearing.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

In Christ there is no East or West (Oxenham - John Fahey)

John Oxenham wrote these very apt verses as part of an anthology of his poems. It sold a quarter of a million copies. John Fahey was a masterful guitar player, specialising in bluegrass style. But especially important is the vision summed up in the first line, which was a response and further development of Rudyard Kipling's "East is East and West is West". The third verse proved problematic as time passed and trends altered the meanings of words. "Gay" used to mean "joyful" - now it has been warped and corrupted into something else; in the same way, "bretheren" and "sons", which was in the original 3rd verse, were gender-neutral terms; they meant both sexes. But on the advent of feminism, jaundiced ears no longer grasped this, and so the verse had to be re-worded. But in reality, saying to a woman in Roman times that she was a "Daughter of God" would have been bad news: daughters would sooner or later (and often, sooner,) be sent away from her home and married off and to some man or other chosen at her father's whim and for his own selfish reasons. I chose the word "kindred" instead of "bretheren" and "as His child" instead of "as a son".

Pat Barrett 'I've Got A Fire' Powerful Live Performance

Oh friend, if there were ever a song that felt like joy on fire, it’s this one. When Pat Barrett sings “I’ve Got A Fire,” in a powerful live performance, you’ll be floored! It’s the sound of a soul that’s been set free, of chains breaking in the background, of heaven brushing right up against earth in the most ordinary of places.

These lyrics, “Break off the chains, let the horses run, unleash the praise at the top of your lungs,” pull something wild and holy out of you. You can’t help but move. You can’t help but believe again that maybe, just maybe, the goodness of God hasn’t run out.

Because that’s what this song does: it takes every cracked, weary place in you and reminds you that there’s still joy buried deep down. That God’s promises aren’t past tense, they’re present and pulsing and alive.

And when Pat lifts his hands and sings, “I could sing forever how You freed my soul,” you feel it. You feel the weight of what’s been lifted and the wonder of what remains: freedom, fire, fullness.

You’ll want to turn this one all the way up. Dance while you’re baking cookies. Sing it out on your morning walk. Let the joy spill over and fill every corner of your day.

And if you catch the end of the live video—oh, it’s the sweetest surprise. Out of the crowd steps a man in suspenders and a cap. It’s his 74-year-old dad climbing the stage with a grin that could light up the room. Before long, he’s dancing, singing, and worshiping right beside his son. Pat wraps him in a hug, and it’s like watching generations of faith collide.

That’s the picture of God’s goodness right there! A fire passed down, joy multiplied, heaven showing up in the middle of music, movement, and love.

So send this song to someone who needs a spark today. Because that same fire that fills Pat’s voice? It’s the same fire that burns in you too.

Hebrews 12:29 “For our God is a consuming fire.”
