FUTRUE Neurosciences has achieved its first milestone on its mission to become the global leader in modern brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) by 2030. BCIs establish a direct interface between the human brain and digital systems. In the medium term, this technology has the potential to redefine the boundaries of medicine — enabling people with paralysis to walk again, restoring vision to the blind, and allowing those who cannot speak to communicate once more.

With the development of a novel microelectrode array (mikro-ECoG) designed to be placed on the surface of the brain and transmit information directly to specific brain areas, FUTRUE Neurosciences has now completed a key technological step on its journey.

According to founder Dr. Clemens Fischer, the newly developed electrode array is currently the most advanced mikro-ECoG system. Featuring 512 electrodes for targeted stimulation, the system opens up further possibilities for next-generation neural interfaces.

“With our newly developed microelectrode array, we have reached a decisive technological milestone in a very short period of time,” said Dr. Clemens Fischer, founder of FUTRUE Neurosciences. “Our goal is to lay the foundation for initial clinical applications later this year.”

Looking ahead, Fischer sees brain-computer interfaces not only as a highly promising tool for supporting patients with severe illnesses, but also as a key enabling technology for future forms of human-machine interaction. In his view, BCIs could ultimately allow humans to develop entirely new forms of consciousness and think in ways that are beyond our imagination today.
