Delta Dental of Tennessee Launches “Cheers to 60 Years” with 60 Moments of Surprise and Delight

Delta Dental of Tennessee (Delta Dental) is celebrating 60 years of ensuring healthy smiles by giving back to communities across the state in a big way. To mark this milestone, the company is launching “60 Moments of Surprise Smiles” — a yearlong campaign of surprise acts of kindness for Tennesseans, from handing out hot chocolate on chilly mornings to unexpected giveaways and community celebrations.

Delta Dental of Tennessee team members spent the afternoon of September 20, the company’s official 60th anniversary, volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, where they also presented the nonprofit’s longtime volunteer coordinators with surprise gifts.

The initiative will feature 60 surprise activations across Tennessee, each designed to spark happiness and bring communities together. To kick off the campaign, Delta Dental team members spent the afternoon of September 20, the company’s official 60th anniversary, volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, where they also presented the nonprofit’s longtime volunteer coordinators with surprise gifts. Just a few days later, the winners of the recent Delta Dental & Friends Dinner and Golf Tournament, benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, were surprised with a $6,060 donation in their names to St. Jude.

Other early “surprises” in the works include a new chair (known as a “kangaroo chair”) designed to support care and improve the NICU experience for parents and babies that will be installed at Regional One Health in Memphis. Delta Dental has also purchased books to restock a Book ‘Em Book Bus. These early moments reflect the spirit of the campaign — celebrating 60 years by investing time, resources, and care back into Tennessee communities.
