GUESTS:

Bucky "Bleeping" Dent former Major League Baseball shortstop and manager, best known for playing for the Yankees and hitting one of the most famous home runs in baseball history. Eternal icon for the New York Yankees and an unforgettable villain for the Boston Red Sox.

Today is the 48 Year Anniversary of the The 1978 Historic Home Run - On October 2, 1978, Dent etched his name into baseball lore during the American League East tie-breaker game against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. With the Yankees trailing 2–0 in the 7th inning, Dent—hitting ninth in the lineup—borrowed a bat from teammate Mickey Rivers and smacked a dramatic three-run home run over the Green Monster. The blast propelled New York into the postseason and eventually led them to a World Series championship. The moment was so monumental that Red Sox fans famously gave him the permanent, derogatory nickname "Bucky F***ing Dent".

Dave Righetti American League Rookie of the Year in 1981 helping the Yankees reach the World Series that year. A former left-handed pitcher with a 16-year career in Major League Baseball (MLB). On July 4, 1983, he threw one of the most memorable games in Yankees history — a no-hitter against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium, the first Yankees no-hitter since Don Larsen's perfect game.

He then made the remarkable transition from starting pitcher to dominant closer, becoming a two-time All-Star and leading the American League with 46 saves in 1986.
