SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 14, 2025--
Mainframe modernization company Mechanical Orchard today announces an appointment to the technology leadership team, reinforcing foundations against a backdrop of strong customer demand for its Imogen platform.
Ingo Wiegand joins as Vice President of Product. Reporting directly to the CEO, Rob Mee, Ingo will be responsible for scaling Imogen, including managing the roadmap, driving smooth collaboration between teams, and ensuring the successful translation from vision to delivery.
Ingo has a great deal of experience to apply to this role. His most recent position was GM & VP of Product Management at Samsara, where he led the video-based safety product through a phase of hyper-growth, to several hundreds of millions in ARR over the course of five years. Before this, Ingo was leading large-scale digital transformations as an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company. He holds an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Commenting on the development, CEO Rob Mee said, “It’s been three years since we started Mechanical Orchard, and I am so proud of our growth and what we have come to represent - optimism that mainframe modernization can be done safely and quickly, while putting control back in the hands of IT leaders. Our product team is at the core of turning the ambition into a reality: a hugely challenging task. And as we enter the next chapter, I am confident Ingo is the right person to be at the helm.”
Mechanical Orchard launched end-to-end modernization platform, Imogen, in April 2025, alongside announcing a strategic partnership with IT consultancy, Thoughtworks. The platform rewrites mainframe applications safely and quickly by focusing on the behavior of the system as represented by data flows, rather than on just translating code. This approach, encapsulated in the platform, signals the end of opaque, risky and uncertain mainframe transformation projects, resets the technical debt meter and restores control to IT teams through rewriting systems into clean, modern code. Customers span the global banking, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and logistics sectors.
