A rough start and the search continues for Jordan Spieth

MAMARONECK, N.Y. (AP) — Jordan Spieth rallied after a shaky start at Winged Foot in opening round of U.S. Open. Spieth three-putted on his opening hole for a bogey and had a double on the second when his ball never came down from a tree. He shot even par the rest of the way and finished with a 3-over 73, 8 shots behind leader Justin Thomas. Spieth got back to even-par at the turn only to give it back quickly. It took him four shots to get down from the front of the green on the par-5 12th in making a double bogey.
