BAYONNE, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a fire that claimed the life of a 98-year-old woman in New Jersey over the weekend doesn’t appear suspicious but the cause remains under investigation. The Hudson County prosecutor’s office says the blaze in Bayonne was reported shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday. Prosecutors say 98-year-old Maria Teti was pronounced dead about a half-hour later at the Bayonne Medical Center. The cause and manner of death are pending investigation by the regional medical examiner. Prosecutors said two other women were rescued. Authorities said the blaze is believed to have started in the first-floor living room.
