Gunfire wounds 5, including 2 children, in the Bronx

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say five people, including two children, have been shot on a Bronx street. All are expected to survive.

Police were looking Thursday for a suspect and three people who were with him at the time of the shooting Wednesday afternoon. The gunfire broke out at Courtlandt Avenue and East 151st Street in the Melrose neighborhood.

Adam Lin manages a liquor store there. He told reporters he heard two bursts of gunfire before people ran into the shop.

Lin said he initially thought they were only seeking cover, but then he realized a boy was bleeding and called for help.

Police say the victims include two boys, ages 10 and 14; two women, ages 19 and 36, and a 20-year-old man. They were wounded in the legs, buttocks and abdomen.
