ROLLING STONES PERFORM FIRST CONCERT SINCE CHARLIE WATTS' DEATH

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The Rolling Stones have hit the concert stage for the first time since drummer Charlie Watts died. The band launched its “No Filter” tour last night in St. Louis, their first concert since Watts died last month at age 80. The performance began with a bare stage and only a drumbeat, as images of Watts flashed on the video board. After two songs, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood went to the front of the stage and thanked fans for their love and support for their fallen bandmate. The Stones then dedicated the song “Tumbling Dice” to Watts.

X AMBASSADORS EXPLAIN THE STORY BEHIND “THE BEAUTIFUL LIAR”

NEW YORK (AP) — The new X Ambassadors album “The Beautiful Liar” is a concept album about a blind teenage girl who discovers superpowers. Given that X Ambassadors keyboardist Casey Harris has been blind since birth, why did the band make their character a girl? Because they believe girls are underrepresented in the superhero world. Singer Sam Harris says he’s been obsessed with the idea of a blind girl whose shadow comes to life and guides her through the world. Sam says he acted as a guide to his brother Casey all their lives, and he sometimes wonders, “Am I that overbearing protective entity?” Casey jokes, “I don’t think so. We’ll get back to you on that.” “The Beautiful Liar” is out now.
