NEW YORK (AP) — New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas says he's excited about the opportunity the team's trade of safety Jamal Adams gives them. Adams was dealt Saturday to Seattle along with a 2022 fourth-round draft pick for first-rounders in 2021 and 2022, a third-rounder in 2021 and safety Bradley McDougald. Douglas says Monday he envisioned Adams remaining with the Jets but the Seahawks were aggressive with their offer and the deal helps New York now and in the future. Douglas also insisted he never promised an offer for a contract extension to Adams or his agents.
