Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Makes Key Leadership Appointments in Canada

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) today announced that it has appointed Andrew Knight as Country Manager, Amanda Sorsak as Head of Claims, and Paul Emerson as Head of Customer & Broker Engagement in Canada.

Andrew joined BHSI in 2016 as Head of Financial Institutions, Executive & Professional Lines (E&P), in Canada and was promoted to Head of Executive & Professional Lines in 2021. He will retain this role, while also assuming the newly created position of Country Manager. In this role, he will oversee BHSI’s expansion into new customer market segments, products, and distribution channels in Canada. Andrew has more than 20 years of industry experience. Amanda was previously Head of First Party Claims in Canada. In her new role, she will oversee both first and third-party claims, delivering on our CLAIMS IS OUR PRODUCT philosophy across all lines of business. Amanda joined BHSI in 2015 as Head of Property, Energy & Marine Claims, and has nearly 20 years of industry experience. Paul Emerson, who was previously Head of Third Party Claims, has transitioned full time to his role as Head of Customer & Broker Engagement in Canada. In this position, he will focus on bringing all the advantages of BHSI – our financial strength, technical underwriting, and service excellence – to the marketplace.
