Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced his vice-presidential pick.
Trump selected J.D. Vance, the junior Senator from Ohio. Vance was first elected to the United States Senate in 2022. Before running for higher office, Vance received national recognition after his non-fiction book Hillbilly Elegy became a bestseller.
Trump's choice comes on the day that the Republican National Convention began in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Trump and his vice-presidential pick will be facing off against incumbent President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris this fall in the highly-anticipated presidential election.
