An illegal immigrant and alleged leader of a Phoenix-based drug ring has been indicted by a state grand jury.
Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced yesterday that Emmanuel Romero Hernandez was arrested earlier this month following a three-month investigation, and faces a number of drug-related charges.
Officials say during the investigation, police intercepted couriers transporting drugs around the Valley who allegedly worked for Hernandez.
Breitbart reports Hernandez is a Mexican national who was in the U.S. illegally and was given a lifetime ban from entering the United States in 2017 after he was deported.
He reportedly admitted to illegally crossing back into the country near Nogales about a year ago.
