Caught in the recent uproar over gun control, a gun-safety-lock company has now been targeted by several social media advertising platforms, citing policies restricting ads for firearms sales.

National Review reports Facebook, Twitter, and Google have all limited or rejected ads for the company ZORE, even though it does not sell guns but gun-safety locks that could potentially save lives.

ZORE’s gun lock has been praised for its effectiveness in preventing unauthorized use of firearms.

But, Facebook and Google said the company’s ads do not comply with their policies.

Twitter told ZORE that it would not even open an ad account for the company.

ZORE’s CEO said their device is about saving lives and protecting families, but the social media giants are stuck in a “binary view on the issue, which sees anything firearms-related as bad.”
