This Peaceful Piano Rendition of ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’ Is Stunning

Don’t overlook what might seem simple. This peaceful piano rendition of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” is stunning. Jason Coleman puts great effort into his performance with every stroke of a key. Watch the video to see it for yourself.

Jason is a master pianist, and this song is a testament to that. He adds in quick, special notes that make his version unique while doing justice to the classic hymn. For those who want to put voice to the keys, some of the lyrics are:

Great is thy faithfulness, O God, my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with thee.
Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
As thou hast been, thou forever wilt be.

“Great is Thy Faithfulness” was written in 1923 by hymnwriter and poet Thomas Obediah Chisholm. Thomas is said to have written over a thousand hymns, but he humbly described himself as “just an old shoe.”

“Great Is Thy Faithfulness” was a poem that Thomas sent to Reverend William H. Runyan from Chicago’s Hope Publishing Company. The reverend loved the poem and set a melody to it.

The reverend said, “This particular poem held such an appeal that I prayed most earnestly that my tune might carry over its message in a worthy way, and the subsequent history of its use indicates that God answered prayer. It was written in Baldwin, Kansas, in 1923, and was first published in my private song pamphlets."

Even without the lyrics present, the song reaches hearts, turning them to God’s greatness and endearing presence. And Jason does a wonderful job of showing his audience just that.

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.” Isaiah 40:28

This Powerful ‘Heart of Worship’ Cover Will Give You Chills

This powerful “Heart of Worship” cover will give you chills. Joel Jackson never fails to amaze. Watch the video to hear him pour his heart out to God.

The ambiance of the video is laid-back. Joel sits on a messy bed in a small room. He strums his guitar in his lap.

An artwork of the cross sits on an AC unit nearby. It’s a familiar and relatable setting.

The setting shows that worship doesn’t always happen in a church; sometimes it happens right in the middle of our mess. The video somewhat implies that Joel has just paused his day to stop and give God glory. Worshipping Him is the most important thing in that moment.

There is a great deal of sincerity in this video. Joel seems completely absorbed in his performance, and it touches your heart to see it. Some of the lyrics to “Heart of Worship are:

You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart, yeah
I'm comin' back to the heart of worship

Joel has a whole series of 90s worship song covers, and they all sound full of spirit. His humble music videos seem so powerful because they are so simply set up. All the focus is on the lyrics he’s singing.

They brim with authenticity. You can tell that, for Joel, it is all about connecting with God on a personal level. It reminds you of humility and peaceful reflection.

Each note feels impactful and intentional. It’s pure and heartfelt worship that homes in on the true meaning of the song.

Joel is so inspiring with his uncomplicated worship. You often see huge choirs, lots of lights, and instruments in worship, but this is something more sincere. Sometimes the best worship is offered in honesty, with quiet reflection and an open heart.

Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed’

Bella's rendition of ‘How Great Thou Art’ is truly heavenly to listen to. What a beautiful voice and gift from God.

In 2021, Bella Taylor Smith was crowned the winner of The Voice Australia, and in 2023, she toured with Pentatonix. She has amassed quite a fan base over the past few years, and many people online have shared how much they adore Bella’s voice and her rendition of this beloved hymn.

“Holy cow, this blessed me. Don’t ever stop singing, Bella,” comments one person online. “The Lord has blessed you with the voice of an angel and you point the world to Him with it. I can’t think of a better way to use your extraordinary gift. Lord bless you and keep you, sis.

“A simple music background and still a great presentation of this beloved hymn. Praise God for your ministry, Bella and your guitarist!” writes another person after watching the video.

As for the background of ‘How Great Thou Art,’ the hymn started in Sweden in 1886, and it is fascinating to hear how the song made its way to the United States. Author and editor Carl Boberg originally wrote ‘How Great Thou Art’ as a poem. Later, those words were set to a Swedish folk tune. Then, in 1907, Manfred von Glehn translated it into German, and five years later, a Russian pastor named Ivan Prokhanoff created a Russian adaptation.

Then, in the early 1920s, Rev. and Mrs. Stuart Hine left their home in England and went to Poland as missionaries. That’s when they heard the Russian adaptation of ‘How Great Thou Art.’ Reverend Hine decided to write the English lyrics and make his own arrangement of the Swedish melody. After going through many iterations, we have the beloved ‘How Great Thou Art’ hymn that we know today.

We hope you enjoyed listening to this version of ‘How Great Thou Art’ from Bella Taylor Smith today!

‘Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You’

What a wonderful cover of ‘Open The Eyes of My Heart.’ This well-known worship song was written by Paul Baloche and was inspired in part by Ephesians 1:18.

“The Apostle Paul was writing a letter to the Ephesians and he says, ‘I pray that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened.’ That verse stirred in my heart,” shares Paul Baloche when talking about the song. “One morning, while playing during a ministry time at my church, I began to sing that phrase over and over again: ‘Open the eyes of my heart, Lord. Open the eyes of my heart.’ The whole song pretty much rolled off my tongue while prayerfully playing my guitar and singing out to Him. It really is a simple song that reflected the sincere prayer of my heart.”

In the video, Avelina puts on such a lovely performance, and many people in the street stop to enjoy her musical talents. Her voice captivates at first, and then her violin playing is what stuns next. The way she gracefully plays her instrument and moves around is a delight to see!

“You have the most sublime voice Avelina. Your singing truly warms the heart,” comments one person online after watching the video.

“Thank you very much for this video, it truly blessed me. God bless you in your walk with Him,” writes another person.

Avenlina is 15 years old, and in addition to the violin, she also plays the saxophone and the guitar. She loves playing music and hopes to use her talent to make the world a better place.

We hope that you enjoyed watching this video today of Avelina Kushnir performing her rendition of ‘Open The Eyes of My Heart.’

In this interview with talk with Crosswalk Talk's Michael Foust, they open up about answering God’s call, shaping a bold sound for Gen Z, and writing honest songs like “Poetic” that point listeners to hope in Christ. Jon Reddick Nearly Quit Music — Then God (and Sheryl Crow) Stepped In

Jon Reddick opens up with Crosswalk Talk's Michael Foust about how he nearly walked away from music -- and the unexpected moment God used to pull him back in. He shares the deeply personal story behind his No. 1 hit “No Fear,” including how fear, perfectionism and his wife’s battle with cancer reshaped both the meaning of the song and his faith. Reddick also reflects on a remarkable turning point involving Sheryl Crow, his life as a worship leader and how God meets us in the middle of unfinished journeys.

Preacher

This I a mixed media video using claymation to create a storyboard for our song "Preacher" which is based from my grandfather. As a small child he began reading God's word, praying and praising God. He watched preachers and preached to the farm animals before eventually baptizing the ones that didn't run away. And the story continued throughout his life. He was known as "Preacher" most of his life. God, family, animals and farming were his passions.

This is the Lord's Prayer

Having a conversation with the Lord, is really as easy as reciting the Lord’s prayer, and then… talk away! I remember first hearing a musical rendition of the Lord’s Prayer, and it left me wanting, mostly because it was impossible for me to sing. I wanted to remedy that, and ended up writing three new versions, and finally settled on this one. Sing it to yourself as often as you can. Everything I read in the Bible tells me that God loves to be praised with music!

Put On the Full Armor of God

Christianity is under attack. World wide for sure… and even in our own country. And there are two kinds of attacks, one is actual physical attack. The other is the subtle, behind-the-scenes attack of Satan… what Christians recognize as spiritual warfare. This music video is to remind us that Satan is REAL, and that the Bible tells us what to do and how to prepare for these attacks, in Ephesians 6:10-13.

Music Video: Your Word Guiding Me

As we head into the new year and start thinking about resolutions, I realized that the resolution I needed the most was to make sure to let scriptures guide me more going into next year. Matthew 6:33 was one of the passages that inspired this song. What are your plans for the new year?

The Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost, And You - By Mark R. Spencer

Every now and then, you'll meet that special someone who makes you want to live with them forever, and walk into that eternal sunset, with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Love - By Mark R. Spencer

What is the truest form of love. Is it companionship? Is it a bond between two human hearts? Or is it more than that?

A Giant’s Tale - By Mark R. Spencer

This is a musical parable about pride. A giant so puffed up that he thought size and strength made him greater than God Himself. And keeping to certain ancient traditions, it's likely that the Anakim, whom Goliath was said to be a son of, would have spread beyond the borders of Israel. God wasn't always known in the lands of Gentiles, who favored pantheons of gods over monotheistic beliefs. And while the giant in the parable may have thought he was challenging "small g" gods, only our "big G" God can cause the consequences this giant faced.

Mom (in Memory Of My Mom, Barbara Jean Eller-Spencer) - By Mark R. Spencer

I'm still reeling from the heartbreak of my mother's passing. Yesterday was the first day that my family and I have endured life on this broken world, without her. Sometimes I forget to breathe. There are no words for how the loss of the one whose body provided for all of your developmental needs, as you entered this world. My dad passed in 2015, and that loss, while deeply saddening, was nothing like this. But then, I was her care giver. That was my duty, for all of the years she took care of my brothers and I. So this song is my tribute to the woman who struggled, sacrificed, and fought to keep a roof over my head, food on the table, and clothes on my back. Mom, you were the best.

Dad (in Memory Of My Dad, Richard Maurice Spencer) - By Mark Richard Spencer

This one is dedicated to my dad, Richard Maurice Spencer, who departed this world on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the age of 87.
