James Cleveland 🎵 ARTIST BIO: James Edward Cleveland (December 5, 1931 – February 9, 1991) was a prominent figure in the American gospel music scene. A singer, musician, and composer, Cleveland is often referred to as the "King of Gospel" due to his immense contribution to the genre. He is credited with helping to create the modern gospel sound by blending traditional black gospel with elements of soul, pop, and jazz. This made his music more accessible and palatable for mass choirs, which in turn helped to popularize gospel music. Cleveland first came to prominence as an arranger, helping the Caravans score their earliest hits with songs like "Old Time Religion" and "Solid Rock." He also founded his own group, the Gospel Chimes, which helped showcase his talents as a composer, arranger, and singer. Cleveland passed away from heart failure on February 9, 1991, in Los Angeles, California.

I helped the daughter of a Congolese preacher. she took me to the nearest evangelic church, First in bits and pieces I received a melody that was not at all common to the songs I normally write, and suddenly completely, this song came to me in a creasy moment. and so I wrote it down in a creasy moment, later on I made a video in a creasy moment, later on I put it on the internet, in a creasy moment. Pl. Don't hold me responsible for the consequences.... I upload it here, because this feels like a save environment to share such a song. I'm not really able to handle much critisism... thanks for your kindness and understanding. The lyrics and music are not mine, they where given to me, I'm only here to share this. <p>An incredibly talented Christian music act, Shane & Shane, turned in an excellent and moving performance about the love and mercy of Jesus Christ, singing “All Sufficient Merit.”</p>

<p>The Bible’s most popular verse, John 3:16, tells of God’s immense love for a bunch of people who had willingly turned their back on Him. But despite all that sin, shame and outright disobedience, He still sent His one and only Son to suffer and die, to take our place upon that cross. Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, went through all of that for you and me. </p>

<p>As the Bible states throughout the New Testament, salvation and the forgiveness of sins are gifts available to all. All anyone must do is confess their sins, ask forgiveness and then believe in their heart that God raised His Son, Jesus Christ, from the dead. </p>

<p>As Shane & Shane sing in their lovely song, this offer of forgiveness was obtained by nothing we have or could ever do. Instead, it was because Jesus Christ willingly went to the cross and bled and died for you and me.</p>
