Signal Hill Equity Partners Announces CEO Transition from James (Jamie) Johnson to Ahmed Abdel-Saheb

After two decades of visionary leadership, Signal Hill Equity Partners (“Signal Hill”) announces that its Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, James (Jamie) Johnson, will retire from his role effective September 30 th 2025.

Jamie has served as the company’s sole CEO since its founding 20 years ago, completed over 100 transactions, and leaves behind a legacy defined by disciplined growth and top tier financial performance with the $500 million of private equity capital raised and invested under his leadership.

Jamie’s unwavering commitment to Signal Hill’s long-term “invest and build” strategy, supported by patient 20-year capital, helped establish the firm as a highly respected private equity partner across North America. His entrepreneurial vision attracted similar minded operating partners and enabled portfolio companies to focus on sustainable growth rather than reacting to short-term economic pressures.

While stepping down as CEO, Jamie will continue to play an active role at Signal Hill. He will remain a member of the Investment Committee, serve as Chair of both Romet Limited and Urban Life Solutions, continue his involvement on the boards of portfolio companies, and provide mentorship to the next generation of leaders within the firm.

Prior to joining Signal Hill to launch the company’s first U.S. office, Ahmed was a Partner at a private equity investment firm focused on the lower middle-market government services and architecture, engineering, and consulting (“AEC”) space where he was responsible for the origination, evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, and execution of numerous closed investment opportunities.
