AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — One person was shot Tuesday at a shopping mall in Augusta, Georgia, where authorities said two suspects had been taken into a custody.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office did not share details about the person's injuries. In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the agency said deputies were still “searching for one individual.”

“Deputies are having to clear store by store to look for anybody that is still inside hiding ... or possibly having a medical emergency,” the sheriff's office statement said.

Spokespersons for the sheriff did not immediately return phone and email messages from The Associated Press.

The mall was closed Tuesday afternoon and authorities were urging people to avoid the area.
